7 Days Chegaga Camel Trekking from Marrakech Tour Details

1st day: Marrakech – Agdz

The first day of Morocco Sahara desert camel trekking tours trip, will start at 8 O’clock, driving you from your place of stay, a riad or a hotel, toward the Highest mountains in Africa “Atlas Mountains”, passing by the Tichka mountain. We will continue by taking a side road to Telouet, a totally ruined Kasbah because its last Pasha fled the country following the departure of the French, and which was belonged to the Glaoui family, the wealthiest of the Atlas. Also, to visit the Unesco World Heritage site, and the most well-known Kasbah in Morocco “Ait Ben Haddou”, and have lunch. We will continue to the south at the beginning of the Dar’a valley to Agdz, where we are going to spend a night and have dinner in the Berber yurts.

2nd day: Agdz – M’hamid

On the second day of the 7 Days Chegaga Camel Trekking from Marrakech, the trip will start after breakfast with a walk around the Kasbah. We then continue driving along the ancient caravan route between the river and the mountains, crossing many villages and gardens, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere and observe the traditional life of oasis inhabitants. We will have lunch in a riad upon reaching Zagora in the afternoon, before heading to the desert gate of M’hamid village, where you can admire the magical sunset and the shifting light over the dunes. Dinner and an overnight stay will be in traditional nomad yurts.

3rd, 4th and 5th days: Trekking

We will spend three unforgettable days and nights in the Sahara Desert as part of the 7 Days Chegaga Camel Trekking from Marrakech, discovering the breathtaking beauty of the Moroccan Sahara. You will trek by camel across diverse desert landscapes including erg, reg, and hammada regions. Daily walks last approximately five hours (two and a half hours in the morning and two and a half in the afternoon), with opportunities to ride camels while others carry the equipment. Meals and nomad-style camps will be prepared by experienced guides and camel drivers. By the afternoon of the fifth day, we arrive at the famous Chegaga dunes, where the panoramic view from the top is truly unforgettable. Dinner and an overnight stay will once again be in traditional nomad yurts.

6th day: Chegaga – Ouarzazate

The sixth day of Morocco Sahara desert camel trekking tours trip, will start by having breakfast, then we will go through another 90 Km of the desert, passing by stunning views and places, the Iriqui lake, the mountains, the fossils, and the first village in the desert “Foum Zguid”, where you can have a shower. We will pass by Taznakht village while driving to Ouarzazate, which is most famous for its Berber rugs and carpets. Arriving at Ouarzazate, we will sleep in a riad where the dinner will be served after reserving your chambers.

7th day: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Our last day of the trip will start by serving you breakfast in your chamber, then to visit the cinema studio of Ouarzazate, and Taourirt Kasbah, which was belonged for a long time to the Pasha of Marrakesh known as “the Glaoui”. Returning to Marrakesh, we will pass by Tizi-N-Tichka, where finally arriving in Marrakesh at the end of Morocco Sahara desert camel trekking tours trip.
